The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (21 March )

Paris – France

In commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (21 March), we have the pleasure to invite you to contribute to the dedicated webpage which will feature the message of the UNESCO Director-General, activities organized by UNESCO field offices and member cities of the International Coalition of Inclusive and Sustainable Cities – ICCAR, videos and links to related websites.

Over the years, celebrations organized around the world have highlighted the importance of collective action at all levels to mobilize a large number of audiences to combat all forms of discrimination, including racial discrimination. As member cities of ICCAR, you would be best placed to share with us your activities, including audiovisual materials and links to social media that would enliven the webpage.

This year, UNESCO is partnering with the Musée de l'Homme to organize the exhibition “Us and them: From prejudice to racism” that will be officially inaugurated by a message of the Director-General on 30 March 2017. Under the patronage of UNESCO, the exhibition offers an original immersive scenography that aims to provide a scientific insight on racist behavior and prejudices. It will feature ICCAR and a focus on the European Coalition.
