Rethinking integration: Online workshop series

Rethinking integration: Online workshop series (21.04.2022 - 02.06.2022)

Integration is now on everyone's mind, at least since the so-called refugee crisis in 2015. But what is it that belongs to integration and who has to integrate into what? What role do cities play?

In this workshop cycle, integration is rethought by adopting different perspectives, examining the topic from different angles, and looking at different groups of actors. Together with you we want to move away from viewing integration as a one-dimensional task of the immigrants. We will reflect on privileges and shift the perspective to the local level.

Whether you are an integration officer, mayor, a newcomer, a volunteer or part of a civil society organization, or just interested in this topic, feel kindly invited to this cycle of 14 online workshops from April 21st to June 10th as part of the EMBRACIN project. The 14 sessions are clustered around the topics of elements of integration, local policy and awareness. Support us with your knowledge and experience to rethink integration on a European level.

Elements of integration

The series starts by looking into matters that are key to integration: Learning, empowerment, aspects of employment, housing and well-being. These sessions make up the first cluster called Elements of integration. By learning and exchanging about these topics, we will establish a general understanding before moving on the the next cluster.
