ECCAR established a permanent Working Group in Mai 2024 to support its member cities in elaborating strategies to collect equality data at the local level. The Working Group which is led by the City of Barcelona and ECCAR Vice President Ana Isabel Rodríguez Basanta creates a forum for exchange and discussion of good practices in this field. It aims to identify different strategies and approaches for municipalities depending on the existing awareness and data level in each city. In the framework of the Working Group the new chapter “Equality Data Collection” of ECCAR’s Toolkit for Equality has been published. It is the result of desk research and interviews with city representatives involved in data collection as part of a local authority. Based on this chapter, ECCAR will conduct online workshops and peer-to-peer exchanges for its member cities.
