On the initiative of the City of Ratzeburg and Amt Lauenburgische Seen (District Authority Lauenburgische Seen), ECCAR is launching the ‘Small Cities & Rural Areas’ working group, which will focus on the particular challenges small cities and rural areas face in their anti-racism work. The working group is intended to create a space to share challenges, successful measures and to jointly develop strategies to strengthen local anti-racism work among the smaller ECCAR member cities and districts. The aim of the first phase is to conduct an initial assessment of the current state of affairs and to analyse the needs of the cities joining the working group. There is no precise definition or regulation regarding the size of the participating cities and districts. All those who see themselves confronted with the challenges associated with a smaller area and rural infrastructure are kindly invited to join.
