During the ECCAR Steering Committee in Wroclaw from June 19-20 the ACTION Steering Board met for the first time to begin the joint work in the framework of ECCAR's new project ACTION. In their role as newly established ACTION Steering board eleven ECCAR cities will monitor the sound implementation of the project ACTION. In Wroclaw, the very different needs of the member cities were assessed to find out what materials and support services would support cities to work on a Local Anti-Racism Action Plan based on ECCAR's 10 Point-Plan of Action. The next meeting of the ACTION Steering Board will take place during the ECCAR General Assembly in November. Cities that are interested to join the ACTION Steering Board can reach out to office@eccar.info.

What is the ACTION Project?
The ACTION Project aims at elaborating local action plans against racism. ACTION is co-funded for two years by the European Union. It is linked to the existing Toolkit for Equality (TKE), which was published by ECCAR in 2016 within the framework of a previously EU-funded project, and included the establishment of a 10-Point Plan of Action (10-PPA) for counteracting racism on the local level. It aims at supporting the implementation of local policies to successfully combat racism.
Within the framework of the ACTION Project, the Toolkit chapter concerning 10-PPAs is going to be updated with regard to current challenges as well as made accessible to all members in their national languages. Furthermore, European cities are going to be supported by means of direct consulting, webinars, and online courses focusing on local 10-PPA. ACTION is in line with the EU Anti-racism Action Plan 2020 –2025, and particularly promoted by the current Swedish presidency at the national levels.
