Effets de quartier : discrimination territoriale et accès à l’emploi

First French seaport of the North Sea with a port still in development, first energy platform of Europe and soon littoral test for wind offshore oil rig, Dunkirk, heart of an urban area of 210,000 inhabitants, combines industrial and harbour tradition with balneal softness and “sustainable development” for which it obtained a first European price.

Seat of the multipolar“ University of the Littoral Coast of Opal" which counts more than 11,000 students, Dunkirk accommodates each year hundreds of thousands of tourists on the 15 kilometers of sandy beach of the “Dunes of Flanders”, where it is good to have a walk. Dunkirk it is  like a “sky changing with the soft and violents clouds”, with the intense and pure lights like the pallet of Arthur Van Hecke. Dunkirk, it is a festive and convivial tradition, like the image of its  original Carnival. Dunkirk it is finally and especially the heat and the energy of men who works to able the projects to will be reality.

Today, Dunkirk - and its urban area - are all at the same time harbour, industrial, university, balneal, “durable”, cultural and festive.
