On the initiative of the cities of Heidelberg and Bologna, a Working Group to combat anti-Black racism was formed in ECCAR in 2020. “People of African descent: recognition, justice and development.” is the theme for the International Decade for People of African Descent (2015-2024) as proclaimed by the UN General Assembly. The Working Group creates a forum for exchange and discussion of good practices on the implementation of the International Decade for People of African Descent (2015-2024) on a local level. It aims to analyze local policies for fighting anti-Black racism, and discrimination to formulate concrete policy recommendations for cities. The work is coordinated by Marie Paule N’Guessan and ECCAR Director Evein Obulor. To learn more you can contact antiblackracism@eccar.info.
