Anti-Muslim racism

ECCAR established a permanent Working Group in December 2020 to support its member cities in tackling anti-Muslim racism. The Working Group creates a forum for exchange and discussion of good practices. The group, led by the city of Heidelberg and ECCAR Vice President Danijel Cubelic aims to analyze local policies for fighting anti-Muslim intolerance, hatred, and discrimination to formulate concrete policy recommendations for cities. It highlights the experiences of Muslims and those perceived as Muslim on anti-Muslim racism in an intersectional manner, offering perspectives from the local administration level and beyond engaging in conversation with NGOs, researchers, and other practitioners. In June 2021, Dr. Linda Hyökki was hired as the Working Group coordinator. To learn more you can contact antimuslimracism@eccar.info.
