On November 1, the Office for Equal Opportunities at the City of Heidelberg together with the European Coalition of Cities against Racism hosted the UNESCO Master Class: Colonial Continuities and Climate Activism in Heidelberg.

Zoom conference with the Simon Wiesenthal Centre - How can cities respond to the rise of antisemitism? How do European Municipalities manage to monitor and fight back, in the context of the Covid19? What are the lessons learned, the resources needed and the good practices to retain and develope inclusive cities?

The European Coalition of Cities Against Racism (ECCAR) and the City of Bologna are glad to announce the 2020 ECCAR General Conference that will take place on 19 and 20 November online.

The UNESCO Master Class: Colonial Continuities and Climate Activism in Heidelberg, follows up on climate justice discourses, shifting perspectives on climate change towards global and intersectional perspectives. The Event will address asymmetries in media attention and the visibility of BIPoC voices within european climate movements, as well the lack of sensitivity for forms of discrimination and racism in the organizations and their activities.

ECCAR’s presidency Bologna, Turin and Reggio Emilia lead the way in the construction of an Anti-racism national plan. The SUPER project was selected among those funded by the European Commission under the REC call - Rights, Equality and Citizenship (Rights, Equality and Citizenship).
